We believe that savoir-faire blending and aging make for an exciting addition to the single varietal wine offerings that hallmark the Finger Lakes as a great wine region. Our mission is to produce quality blended wines sourced exclusively from Finger Lakes grapes.
The name Quotidian™ is derived from the Latin "daily" or "everyday." The name underscores the style of these wines as classic table wines – intended to be paired with food and reasonably priced.
Quotidian™ wines are aged in neutral oak (the white for 12 months, the red for 24) and then flash-aged in Meleau™ port casks for added body. The resulting flavor profiles present a unique expression of the French tradition of blending and cask aging. These wines are easy to drink yet complex and highly satisfying. They serve to complement without overwhelming. They can be paired with food or enjoyed on their own.
These wines belong to the category of French fine Port vinification method wines. After the fermentation is stopped with the addition of grape brandy, these wines are aged in a 2006 neutral oak Solera system.
The name Meleau™ is pronounced, mellow. It is a fanciful term derived from Latin and French, meaning nectar and distilled spirit: nectar because the yeast is grown in honey, "mel," and distilled spirit for "eau"-de-vie.
Meleau™ wines can be aged beyond one's lifetime in a wine cellar. Once opened, they can be stored for months at room temperature.
